Minimum requirement 1:

For each section of reading, you are responsible for creating one post where you respond to some aspect of the section [something that you like, something you find shocking, something you are moved by, some connection you have made, something you are seeing in a new way, a symbol you recognize, a character that strikes you in some way, etc. You can focus on a single chapter within the reading section, you can focus on a section as a whole, you can choose to respond to several things within a section - this part is up to you.]. Your post must be at least 100 words and must be thoughtful in nature.

Minimum requirement 2:

You are also responsible for reading the posts of others and commenting [thoughtfully] on three other posts per section of reading. If one post already has 4 comments, please choose another post to interact with. When commenting, please use the name of the person to whom you are specifically responding [for example: I agree with your insights, Bob, as I feel....]

How to get an A+:

In order to get full points for this assignment, however, I would like to see genuine discussion. Go beyond the minimum requirements! If someone comments on your post, comment back. Your discussions should not be superficial and mediocre, but rather they should be purposeful and insightful conversations.

Examples of unacceptable posts/comments:

- This book is awesome!

- This book sucks!

- I agree!

- idk what this chapter was about.

- omg wtf

***Plus points if you are the first person to post for each chapter!

Reading/Posting Schedule:

Section 1: You may begin posting on 1/15 at 2:40pm. Post 1 due 1/19 before class starts [chapters 1-6]

Comments due 1/21 before class starts

Section 2: You may begin posting on 1/22 at 2:40pm. Post due 1/26 before class starts [chapters 7-12]

Comments due 1/28 before class starts

Section 3: You may begin posting on 1/29 at 2:40pm. Post due 2/2 before class starts [chapters 13-20]

Comments due 2/4 before class starts

Section 4: You may begin posting on 2/5 at 2:40pm. Post due 2/9 before class starts [chapters 21-31]

Comments due 2/11 before class starts
