Aaliyah Mitchell-TKAM Section 3
I felt like I was on that balcony along with Jem, Scout and Dill. I was holding on to every word that was said in that court room. It saddens me to know that this man, although he deserves a fair trial, may not receive a fair trial all because he's Black. It's the sad truth that this is the world that these people live in but the people in Maycomb like Dill, Atticus and Mr. Raymond make me feel better and give me a sense of hope I guess. Dill crying during the cross examination of Mr. Robinson, Atticus taking his case and Mr. Raymond finding favor among Blacks makes me feel better because it shows that there are people, although few, that don't care about differences in skin color but see people for who they are. What I loved most about this section was Atticus' final speech to the jury.
