Section 4 : Jasmin Aguirre
After Scout seen who Arthur Radley "Boo" was, she couldn't believe she would actually ever have the chance to meet him in person. After all Atticus was right . Atticus had told Scout a while back that, "you never really know a man until you stand in his shoes and walk around in them." Scout realized that he was right when she sat beside him and he did nothing to harm her rather than to protect her. If it wasn't for Boo, Jem and Scout could have been dead and the story would have ended in different terms. I would like to have known more about Boo Radley and have him explain some stuff about his life and the reason he's been indoors for a long time.

Even though we didn't get to learn more about Arthur Radley I feel that his mysterious story was essential to the novel. It allowed the reader to let their imagination go wild as they formulated a story about Boo's background. Do you think the story would have been better if the author gave us a full story about Arthur Radley?
ReplyDeleteI agree. When Scout walks Boo home and sees the town from where he always does, she realizes what her father meant. I also would have liked to read more about Boo Radley rather than just rumors about him. Also I like the point that Jem makes about Boo possibly wanting to stay inside.
ReplyDeleteI would have also liked to know more about Boo Radley's role in the story. He did play a vital part in protecting the children, but I want to know his motives
ReplyDeletePerhaps his only motive was that he felt that he was a part of the lives of the children. Perhaps he enjoyed the imaginations of the children and enjoyed participating to a small extent. When he put the blanket on Scout, I believe he showed that he was a part of the neighborhood even though his neighbors didn't take care to be a part of him.
