TKAM Section 3- Nick
The racial tension continues to grow in section 3 with the start of the trial for Tom Robinson when he was presented with an all white jury. This for certain gave Tom an uncertain feeling as he could not be that confident about his odds. People were also upset that the Finch's were sitting in the colored balcony. Some thought Atticus made them sit there to draw sympathy for the defendants case.

Do you think they purposefully presented Tom with an all white jury? And do you think it was a good idea of of Atticus to try and draw sympathy from others for the benefit of Tom?
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think about the ways in which the judge acts throughout the trial? What about other facets of the courtroom procedures?
ReplyDeleteI feel like Tom knows he isn't going to win this trial and so does everyone else in the courtroom. Why do you think the black people at the trial had hope for Tom even though they knew the odds?
ReplyDeleteNick, do you think that Jem, Scout and Dill sitting in the balcony with the Black people made any difference in the way the jury would vote?
